Trained at Vidal Sassoon in the mid-80s, Tokyo moved to New York to work at Vidal Sassoon’s 5th Avenue salon and began his editorial career contributing to numerous publications including Rolling Stone, Harper’s Bazaar, Allure and Glamour. He returned to San Francisco, working at Architects & Heroes and doing hair and makeup for Macy’s, The Gap, Old Navy, Levi’s, and other top retail clients.
